Demosthenes Touliatos is Civil Engineer, graduate from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) with a post-graduate Magister Diploma from the Karlsruhe Technical University (TH), Institut of Construction Equipment and Construction Management. He has 40+ years experience in the field of construction project management, cost estimating planning and scheduling, quality assurance and construction project controlling. From 1980 to 2020 he was Research Fellow and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Construction Engineering and Management of the School of Civil Engineering at the NTUA, covering the topics of cost estimating, time scheduling, project controls and health and safety on construction sites. From 2017 until 2020 he has undertaken the organization and teaching of the course “Building Information Modeling Technology – BIM” in the 9th semester of the School of Civil Engineering. From 2003 to 2017 he served as Technical Advisor to the Greek Contractors Association (SATE). From this position, he supported the initiatives of the contracting organizations to reform and improve the pricing and cost estimating practices for the Public Works in Greece. Since 2017, he has been actively involved in promoting actions for the digital transformation of the Construction Sector in Greece.
